Every media company has focuses. A news agency isn't who we are – it didn't fit. We report on data we analyze, looking for opportunities to create a discussion or bring public awareness. Open data allows us to build a better future by understanding what went right, and what went wrong.

Public Education

Many of our stories and investigations focus on learning and educating. Awareness often doesn't imply action; we want to shift that paradigm. We want to arm you with knowledge. Knowledge isn't name calling, it's learning from past experience, aka the proof that's in the pudding.

Building Trust

It's time that we create a community that can trust our local government and police. That requires listening to each other on both sides of the equation. We want to foster better relationships and our stories will reflect that, as we explore new opportunities to built trust and community.

Why Journalism?

From a young age, I’ve had an insatiable curiosity and a knack for argumentation that could rival seasoned attorneys, much to my family’s chagrin—and occasional delight. My childhood was punctuated by spirited debates and the relentless pursuit of truth, traits that have seamlessly woven into the fabric of my professional ethos.

My journey into the world of media wasn’t sparked by chance but by the crackling waves of a shortwave radio. The long wire antenna, rigged from my bedroom window to a nearby tree, was my gateway to the world. It connected me to voices that discussed, deliberated, and dissected the pressing issues of our times. This early exposure to the power of journalism ignited a passion that burns to this day.

While my career path led me to the intricate world of IT, the call of investigative journalism was one I couldn’t ignore. In the interstices of code and data, I found parallels with journalism—both are quests for clarity, for understanding, for answers. Now, in the margins of my primary profession, I dedicate myself to unearthing stories that matter, to analyzing data that speaks, and to crafting arguments that resonate.
